Safe and easy February 28, 2013

I love this carseat. It is super easy to adjust straps while baby is in seat. It also latches into the base easily. I feel like it is extreamly safe for my little one and isn't to heavy to carry. THe only drawback is that I don't feel like we needed it go up to 30 pounds. Our daughter outgrew it because of height by the time she was about 18 pounds. I bought mine through diapers.com and was very happy. If you use the code BAIL2798 I think you get 20% off your whole purchase but I don't know what the cap on discount is. Some amazon offers are pretty good too. REVIEWS..........

Very nice seat, detachable carrier from the base means that you can install the base onto your car (or preferably, have a spouse or family member pre-install it while the mother-to-be is waiting for the kid to be born!) and then it's all a matter of snapping the carrier to the base.

I personally like the darker color, it means that this will not look dirty so easily, and also means the cover blocks out sunlight better.

Sturdy handle, the only thing of note is that I've seen some where the handle is twisted 90°, so that a person can carry the baby carrier for a bit and not have to rotate the arm/wrist. But let's be serious, it's not like Britax is intending the parent to be carrying around a kid for long, that's what strollers are for! Therefore, no minus points for that small quibble.

Overall, still highly recommended. This is the gift you hint at to get your friends and family to get for your baby shower! Of course, try to get the stroller as well, as this snaps onto it as a stroller, the same way it snaps onto the car seat base. Especially with very small babies, a lot of anxiety can be removed by not having to lift a baby in and out of a stroller/car/seat, and instead use the snap and lock system!

The Britax Pinnacle car seat is a top of the line safety system that can be used as a forward facing car seat or booster seat. Previously, we have been using Britax Marathon and a Britax Boulevard, which we have been very happy with. The next seat up from these two is the Britax Advocate, which adds the side plastic cushions on the exterior of the car seat, also featured on this Britax Pinnacle. These car seats are all substantial, but the Britax Pinnacle is especially large. It takes up a lot of room and is also very spacious and comfortable for the child.

We used the LATCH system on or previous Britax car seats, which is fairly convenient, but not as easy as the Pinnacle's CLICKTIGHT sytem, which uses the seat belts from the car instead of the sometimes difficult to access (or in older cars, non-existent) metal latches. The construction of the car seat is extremely robust. There is a very strong metal frame to protect your child along with ample padding and the previously mentioned plastic/air cushions. My child is especially happy with the two drink holders.

Overall, this is a wonderful car seat that we will be sure to get many years use out of. Since it converts into a booster, hopefully this will be our last car seat purchase (at least for our oldest). I would recommend this car seat for ages 4+. Certainly for kids under 2, I would recommend a rear-facing seat. For kids 2-3 years old, this seat may be a bit big, but that depends on the kid (minimum weight is 25 lbs only, but you don't want your kid swimming in this thing). REVIEWS..........

Thank God for Britax. I will try to make this short and sweet. 1 week ago yesterday, my family of 5 and another child who was with us were hit while traveling between 45-50 miles per hour by someone speeding through a stop sign. The accident was so quick we did not even have time to hit the brakes. Most of the initial impact and roll impact was the worst on the passenger side. The side where my son was...in his Britax booster. My car FLIPPED, as in up in the air and came crashing down on the roof at least once, maybe twice...then continued to roll a little less violently, but still violent none the less. All together we flipped and rolled 4 TO 5 TIMES, landing finally on the roof for the final roll, then slid down the road on the roof. Once we came to a stop, my car was 50 or more yards from the initial impact, facing the wrong direction, and in a different lane. To say my car is totaled is an under statement. It looks as though it just came out of a junk yard car crushing machine...not a window remains, not a light remains, half of the mechanical components under the hood are gone, the roof is 1/2 the height it used to be...its one of those wrecks you pass on the road and feel sick to your stomach thinking, "Oh dear God, someone died tonight." Hearing my son yelling for help I slid on my back to him (remember, the roof is now the floor and there was no getting out through a door, mine was totally crushed) I found my son hanging upside down...SECURELY STILL BUCKLED INTO HIS BRITAX. He had not budged an INCH. I unbuckled him and he and the booster fell down on my chest. Smelling smoke, I shoved him out his glassless window. This is a fantastic option for big kids! July 4, 2013

We already owned a Britax Frontier 85, and needed a big kid seat for our second child and this one had just been announced, so we held off to purchase this one. It is Britax's answer to the Graco Nautilus, and by far superior. Clearly not the Frontier, less bells and whistles, no fancy locking mechanism for the seatbelt, cheaper fabirc, over all a more bare bones seat - but 10x easier to install than a Nautilus, durable, and long lasting. Seeing as my 5 year old has yet to hit 35lbs, the lower weight limit of just 70lbs harnessed will be a non-issue. Unless you have bigger kids, this car seat is more than plenty. If money were no option I would likely still buy this over the Frontier, and the green kiwi cover helps too - so nice to have boy options other than blue, red, or black! REVIEWS.........
