I love this carseat. It is super easy to adjust straps while baby is in seat. It also latches into the base easily. I feel like it is extreamly safe for my little one and isn't to heavy to carry. THe only drawback is that I don't feel like we needed it go up to 30 pounds. Our daughter outgrew it because of height by the time she was about 18 pounds. I bought mine through diapers.com and was very happy. If you use the code BAIL2798 I think you get 20% off your whole purchase but I don't know what the cap on discount is. Very nice seat, detachable carrier from the base means that you can install the base onto your car (or preferably, have a spouse or family member pre-install it while the mother-to-be is waiting for the kid to be born!) and then it's all a matter of snapping the carrier to the base.

I personally like the darker color, it means that this will not look dirty so easily, and also means the cover blocks out sunlight better.

Sturdy handle, the only thing of note is that I've seen some where the handle is twisted 90°, so that a person can carry the baby carrier for a bit and not have to rotate the arm/wrist. But let's be serious, it's not like Britax is intending the parent to be carrying around a kid for long, that's what strollers are for! Therefore, no minus points for that small quibble.

Overall, still highly recommended. This is the gift you hint at to get your friends and family to get for your baby shower! Of course, try to get the stroller as well, as this snaps onto it as a stroller, the same way it snaps onto the car seat base. Especially with very small babies, a lot of anxiety can be removed by not having to lift a baby in and out of a stroller/car/seat, and instead use the snap and lock system!

The Britax Pinnacle car seat is a top of the line safety system that can be used as a forward facing car seat or booster seat. Previously, we have been using Britax Marathon and a Britax Boulevard, which we have been very happy with. The next seat up from these two is the Britax Advocate, which adds the side plastic cushions on the exterior of the car seat, also featured on this Britax Pinnacle. These car seats are all substantial, but the Britax Pinnacle is especially large. It takes up a lot of room and is also very spacious and comfortable for the child.

We used the LATCH system on or previous Britax car seats, which is fairly convenient, but not as easy as the Pinnacle's CLICKTIGHT sytem, which uses the seat belts from the car instead of the sometimes difficult to access (or in older cars, non-existent) metal latches. The construction of the car seat is extremely robust. There is a very strong metal frame to protect your child along with ample padding and the previously mentioned plastic/air cushions. My child is especially happy with the two drink holders.

Overall, this is a wonderful car seat that we will be sure to get many years use out of. Since it converts into a booster, hopefully this will be our last car seat purchase (at least for our oldest). I would recommend this car seat for ages 4+. Certainly for kids under 2, I would recommend a rear-facing seat. For kids 2-3 years old, this seat may be a bit big, but that depends on the kid (minimum weight is 25 lbs only, but you don't want your kid swimming in this thing). REVIEWS..........

Thank God for Britax. I will try to make this short and sweet. 1 week ago yesterday, my family of 5 and another child who was with us were hit while traveling between 45-50 miles per hour by someone speeding through a stop sign. The accident was so quick we did not even have time to hit the brakes. Most of the initial impact and roll impact was the worst on the passenger side. The side where my son was...in his Britax booster. My car FLIPPED, as in up in the air and came crashing down on the roof at least once, maybe twice...then continued to roll a little less violently, but still violent none the less. All together we flipped and rolled 4 TO 5 TIMES, landing finally on the roof for the final roll, then slid down the road on the roof. Once we came to a stop, my car was 50 or more yards from the initial impact, facing the wrong direction, and in a different lane. To say my car is totaled is an under statement. It looks as though it just came out of a junk yard car crushing machine...not a window remains, not a light remains, half of the mechanical components under the hood are gone, the roof is 1/2 the height it used to be...its one of those wrecks you pass on the road and feel sick to your stomach thinking, "Oh dear God, someone died tonight." Hearing my son yelling for help I slid on my back to him (remember, the roof is now the floor and there was no getting out through a door, mine was totally crushed) I found my son hanging upside down...SECURELY STILL BUCKLED INTO HIS BRITAX. He had not budged an INCH. I unbuckled him and he and the booster fell down on my chest. Smelling smoke, I shoved him out his glassless window. This is a fantastic option for big kids! July 4, 2013

We already owned a Britax Frontier 85, and needed a big kid seat for our second child and this one had just been announced, so we held off to purchase this one. It is Britax's answer to the Graco Nautilus, and by far superior. Clearly not the Frontier, less bells and whistles, no fancy locking mechanism for the seatbelt, cheaper fabirc, over all a more bare bones seat - but 10x easier to install than a Nautilus, durable, and long lasting. Seeing as my 5 year old has yet to hit 35lbs, the lower weight limit of just 70lbs harnessed will be a non-issue. Unless you have bigger kids, this car seat is more than plenty. If money were no option I would likely still buy this over the Frontier, and the green kiwi cover helps too - so nice to have boy options other than blue, red, or black! REVIEWS.........

This carseat could save your child's life!

Don't even blink at the price or anything else that really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of life. We were in a freeway rollover accident yesterday in our Honda Pilot that completely totalled the car. My precious 4 year old daughter was all strapped in tight in this car seat and walked away without even a scratch. As soon as I finish up this review, I am buying another one. Seriously, when you are in an accident like that, won't you be glad you put your munchkin in the safest seat possible, even if it can be a pain in the neck to install and annoying to get the cover off to clean? Also should note my 22 month old son was in an Evenflo Triumph (also gets high safety ratings). Thank God he was totally fine, but the strap that attaches the carseat to the anchor in the car literally ripped in half horizontally. It is a miracle that he is okay, because I shudder to think he could have been flopping around with only one anchor attached in addition to the over the seat tether..

Excellent car seat!

I just bought this car seat a few weeks ago from Amazon and I love it. Originally I bought the Graco Nautilus car seat because of all the great reviews. It had a lot of nice features, but my little boy just didn't like it. He cried every time he got in it. With this car seat it is so comfy and roomy for him and he really likes riding in it. It sits higher than other car seats so he can see out of the window better and there is a lot of padding to make it comfortable. It also has sides that he can lean his head on easily to go to sleep. I don't have the latch system in my car, but it was very easy to install and very stable. I also really love the color. It is very neutral and looks even better than the picture. The cover comes off very easily to wash. Overall I think this carseat is wonderful and I highly recommend it. REVIEWS..........

I love my Graco Snugride 35!

I purchased the SnugRide 35 for my little man because I knew it would last far longer than any other infant carrier carseat and more importantly, he would be safe. He is 16 months old and has just reached the maximum length of 32". The carseat is definitely heavy with him in it, but I can still easily lift him from car to grocery cart or stroller and can still carry it short distances. This is especially helpful when he has fallen asleep!

The cover has seen its share of leaky diapers and newborn spit up and is very easy to clean. It is mashine washable and dries thoroughly when hung up overnight. The straps are easy to unthread for cover removal and the strap covers have velco for quick and easy removal and spot cleaning. It was easy to adjust the straps as my son grew.

My only complaint is that the strength of the canopy has started to wear. When the canopy is pulled back, it falls to a lowered position behind the seat. It is not a problem, just a visual pet peeve on my part. Keep in mind, of course, that my son likes to play peek-a-boo with me by pulling the canopy back and forth over his face.

Also, I did and still do use this in conjunction with the Graco Car Seat Frame Stroller, which I highly recommend. It served me well, especially after a c-section. It is so light to lift and easy to push instead of a bulky travel system. REVIEWS..........

I dont personally have kids, but in order to steal my nephew for an afternoon I needed to get a nice car seat that my sister (first time mom) would approve of. She personally paid over $300 for her car seat and she told me there was lots of swearing and sweat as her husband attempted to install their expensive top of the line car seat. I paid pennies for this car seat and it was super easy to install, had good reviews already and was super easy to take in and out of the car. My nephew is comfortable and its really easy to pull him out of the car and put him in. I also must say that this seat is compact. My sisters expensive car seat makes it impossible to sit other people in the back seat cause its sooo overly bulky. But this car seat is slimmer without loosing out on any protection or padding. I can fit 2 people NO problem in the back of the car. I highly recommend this car seat to any new parent or an aunty looking to have a spare car seat!

I bought these car seats for the design and overall specifications! I looked for weeks to find the perfect one. I bought two the pink angels and blue angels for my two kids in January 2013 around the 15th and received them around the 24th! My son is almost 7 and my daughter is a little over 3. They both fit in the seat perfectly! I love how easy they was to put together (less than 10 minutes each), installation in car was easy as well as removing them, and cleaning care. I haven't used the booster without the back, but love the fact that they came with a seatbelt guide for them! I have been using them for two weeks when I got my new van. Don't let the simplicity of them fool you I can attest that they are very safe. Yesterday we was in a major drivers side impact I was pinned from dash collapsing and the door caving in and my door cut off to remove me. Both of my children got clean bill of health at the ER (the ER staff was impressed how union juried the kids was & that I used high back boosters unlike a lot parents who do the booster only option) walked away without a scratch, bruise, or even soreness! Me on other hand not so lucky. This is a great product and now that I have to replace these due to the accident I am defiantly buying them for a second time!

I bought 2 because I needed it for 2 cars, but my son, who's about 4 years old is also 42 inches tall and weighs about 40lbs. Keeping him in a forward facing convertible car seat (2-car seats: Britax Marathon and First Years True Fit) in our cars is nearly impossible in compact/subcompact cars (even though we will be upgrading to a full sized SUV) was getting tighter and probably was very unsafe with his legs pressed against the back seat. After he complained of his legs being pressed up against the seat, I bought a "flier" version from a Big Box retailer to try it out and saw the padding, high back feel, and quality of worksmanship and decided to use my gift certificates from Amazon. This seat is fantastic. I feel confident that, in the worst case scenario, this seat will keep him safe (and its highly rated in safety as well). I would recommend this.

I needed a new seat for my small three year old, so she could easily get in and out by herself. It was just getting too cumbersome to get her in and out of the Britax Marathon, even though she was nowhere near the height or weight limits! I was having a hard time deciding between the Frontier 85, Frontier 90, and the Pioneer 70. After reading and watching the few reviews on the Pioneer 70, I went for it. It doesn't have the ClickTight (Frontier 90), HUGS, or EZ Buckle (Frontier 90), but after reading on Britax's site and on various forums about each of those features, I was okay with not having them.
