I bought 2 because I needed it for 2 cars, but my son, who's about 4 years old is also 42 inches tall and weighs about 40lbs. Keeping him in a forward facing convertible car seat (2-car seats: Britax Marathon and First Years True Fit) in our cars is nearly impossible in compact/subcompact cars (even though we will be upgrading to a full sized SUV) was getting tighter and probably was very unsafe with his legs pressed against the back seat. After he complained of his legs being pressed up against the seat, I bought a "flier" version from a Big Box retailer to try it out and saw the padding, high back feel, and quality of worksmanship and decided to use my gift certificates from Amazon. This seat is fantastic. I feel confident that, in the worst case scenario, this seat will keep him safe (and its highly rated in safety as well). I would recommend this.
